CMM: The emerging Gabon's flagship project

Since 2009, Eramet has invested in the building of a processing plant near the manganese deposit in Moanda, which will start exploitation in late 2014, will stretch over 50 hectares and represent  a  total  investment  cost  of  USD280  million.  It  will  include  a  silicomanganese  plant  and  a  metal manganese plant with respective capacities of 65,000 tons per year and 20,000 tons per year. The Gabonese government also supported this project with the construction on public funds of a new hydro-electric power plant, Grand Poubara, a 160-MW dam which began production in September 2013.

This major project is the beginning of a genuine industrialisation era in Gabon.
